The Basket the Bunny Brought

by Susan M. Dailey

The children can help you tell this cumulative story.   I used props for this story and filled the basket with the various items as I told it.  Since real candy was used in the story, I told the kids that we'd have jellybeans at the end of the program.  For the "eggs boiled and dyed" I found candles that looked like boiled eggs and cut off the wicks.  This made them look different than the plastic egg mentioned.

This is the basket the bunny brought.

This is the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

These are the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

These are the marshmallow sugary chicks

That stick to the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

These are the red licorice sticks

That stand near the marshmallow sugary chicks

That stick to the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

This is the toy egg with money inside

That rolls by the red licorice sticks

That stand near the marshmallow sugary chicks

That stick to the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

These are the eggs boiled and dyed

That circle the toy egg with money inside

That rolls by the red licorice sticks

That stand near the marshmallow sugary chicks

That stick to the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

This is the polka-dotted bow  (change to fit bow you have)

That hangs by the eggs boiled and dyed

That circle the toy egg with money inside

That rolls by the red licorice sticks

That stand near the marshmallow sugary chicks

That stick to the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.

These are the kids whose faces glow  (point to kids in audience)

That spy the polka-dotted bow

That hangs by the eggs boiled and dyed

That circle the toy egg with money inside

That rolls by the red licorice sticks

That stand near the marshmallow sugary chicks

That stick to the colorful jellybeans

That hide in the grass pink and green

That fills the basket the bunny brought.
